c'mon chemicals!

Kriss and Alex are here and I'm stomping around in my kitchen listening to hipster music! (Matt and Kim, Totally Michael, Pulp, Alphabeat.......and LADY GAGA).
We made brownie cupcakes with chocolate frosting and they are so good! Pictures to follow later maybe. If i remember/care enough.

Also, quote of the day (no this is not going to be a regular thing): "it's only rape if it's rainman dustin hoffman, but if it's the graduate dustin hoffman, you're just like, 'oh, absolutely!'"

waterwaterwater is so nice right now. My mouth is so dryyyy! (that's what she said jokes not allowed). there are so many (parentheses) in this post.

(i love parentheses. they're so useful for adding thoughts that are completely relevant, but don't really fit anywhere.)

I haven't posted a picture in a while. Like 2 posts. hm...sit on this:

Go ahead and try not to fall in love!! It's pretty hard, i know!

Oh, so speaking of Matt and Kim, they are coming to London on Monday! And we are seeing them! Oh, hipster boy paradise! swoon!

I'm also using a lot of !exclamations! Maybe i'm really excited? Probably.
It's probably the excess of hipster music taking over my house right now. I wish I had a soundtrack that followed me around wherever I went that fit whatever mood I'm feeling at the time. I think everyone secretly (or not so secretly) wishes they had one. I'm also pretty sure that when people listen to their mp3 player of choice while walking down the street, they pretend their life is a movie and that is their soundtrack.

Jens lekman! just came up on shuffle and I'm still in love with him. omg i have to pee so bad why am i not doing that??

"i took my sister down to the ocean, but the ocean made me feel stupid"
^^ oh, jens. another picture:

ok, i think this post is done. we are going to a park soon. after we nap and i pee.

hello - no title for this post

Here are the pictures from the weekend. I wish I had a new cameraaaa! A digital SLR would be real nice. Nikon too. But that isn't gonna happen.

Anywho, here is my new hobby. I'm going to be adding to this album later. And it's not actually a new hobby. It's just that I finally acted on it. I don't actually know what sparked the interest for taking pictures of these little guys, but I think I've been obsessed with them since I was like...8. I can't even say, "but, like, not in a weird way!" Because it is, admittedly, pretty weird.

Ok, so since I made that "THESE ARE ALL THE BOOKS I'M GOING TO READ!" post, I've read one more chapter of M&M. At that rate, I will never finish! I NEED INSPIRATION!

I heard Mr. Obama is a pretty good motivational speaker and whatnot.  Maybe if I gave him a call, he could convince me to fly through that book.

Swedish music is mostly weird.

summer book list!

Right now, I am reading The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. And so begins the summer reading lists that I barely finish/start. Okay, hopefully, this year will be different. Here is my list:

Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf - Edward Albee (I read the first act and have yet to finish to rest of the play)
Geek Love - Katherine Dunn
Waiting for Godot - Samuel Beckett
Sex, Drugs, and Cocoa Puffs - Chuck Klosterman
The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys - Chris Fuhrman
Choke, Fight Club, Invisible Monsters - Chuck Palahniuk
Tender is the Night - F. Scott Fitzgerald
An American Tragedy - Theodore Dreiser
House of Leaves - Mark Z Danielewski
Pride and Prejudice and Zombies - Jane Austen, Seth Grahame
The Sun Also Rises, A Moveable Feast - Ernest Hemingway
High Fidelity, Fever Pitch - Nick Hornby
Daisy Miller - Henry James
A Portrait of the Artist as A Young Man - James Joyce (to start off joyce)

I'm sure there are more, but that's it for now.

summa luvin' had me a blassst

Ok, plans to go to Haworth fell through, but we did something else instead.  Drove to Windsor/Bath/Stonehedge. Will post pictures later.

Summer is definitely here. I can tell by the excessive amount of sweat and pit stains left on my t-shirts. Meaning...? Time to go to Topshop and get new clothes! Right now I am so into shorts. Unfortunado, I have long, twiggy legs so I just look like a streetwalker when I wear them. So now I'm trying to find the perfect blend of cute, but not trashy. But also, long enough so neither of my buttcheeks is hanging out to also experience the summer months. Doo doo da doo am on the website right now. Just saw some disgusting neon pink hotpants for 15pounds. I think acid bleached shorts/pants/everything is in right now. That might fall under the trashy category.
Oh! These old lady shorts are nice because they look like a skirt without the hassle of worrying about showing your underwear to EVERYONE when you step outside of the train station. Those skirts that stick to your legs are nice though. But again, trashy category? We will see.

OMG! THIS! Ideal.

I got mad sunburn yesterday/today. And now I just look like this:

Hopefully I won't look sickly/ghastly anymore.
Ohhh, summersummersummersummer!

ping pang

I just searched for zombies and vampires on Flickr. No, don't ask me why. Anywho, I don't understand the fascination with the Twilight series. Seriously? It's only because of this guy right here:

And while I'll be the first to admit that, yes, he is pretty attractive, I am so over the R-Patz phase.

I think I seem to prefer the pasty, dirty, perma-inebriated Robert Pattinson to the suave, "dazzling," immortally vampiric Edward Cullen anyway. But either way, he's got such good bone structure omg! However, his taste in women is questionable. Who likes that K-Stew anyway?

Ok, so anyway monday is a bank holiday here in the LDN which = three day weekend. And meine mutter is taking off tuesday as well so here we are with a FOUR day weekend. Alright, so to take full advantage of this mini-holiday, we are driving to Haworth, Yorkshire. Yes, that Yorkshire.  And the very same Haworth where them Bronte sisters were born.

Apparently it's gonna rain this weekend. That is either going to make this trip ideal or really shitty. I'm gonna go make some tea and play The Sims.

Nadia Oh, Oh?

Okay I have another new song obsession. Nadia Oh's Got Your Number. I really can't stop listening to this. I...put it on repeat last night. How many times? I don't actually know. The video is perfectly Miami trashy and reminiscent of the glitter and butterfly clip phase of the early 2000's.  And as if that description didn't want to make you go out and buy the entire album, to make it more enticing, the song was on Gossip Girl.

Last.fm recommendations are simply the best!

update!

This addiction has gotten so bad, I have resorted to looking at HGTV's website to get interior decorating ideas and have also started to troll Sims 2 message boards in search of new ideas and plot lines I can use to "spice up" my sims' lives.

I need to start working again.

BABY FALL

For lunch today, I wanted Mac & Cheese, but realized there wasn't enough butter! I was about to give up and make a PB&Nutella sandwich, but turned around and saw a banana on the counter that started getting all black and wrinkly with old age. I was about to eat that instead, but saw a buncha pasta in our pasta canister. I was still in the mood for pasta/noodle/etc since I couldn't eat my mac&cheese, but this banana was looking pretty good too. It was at that perfect stage of sweetness - when the skin is a nice, bright yellow, but there are also little brown bits all over.

Anywho, I was conflicted because of my two cravings so in the end I just decided to make a banana sauce for the pasta. SUCCESS! It was delicious and I got the best of both worlds!

I would show a picture, but it didn't look that good so nevermind. The only thing that ruined it for me was that while eating, I was watching Jon and Kate Plus Eight (Aaden, I love you). Aside from Kate's perennial, overbearing bitching, the producers thought it would be nice to show Kate's stomach POST-sextuplets and PRE-lipo.

Feel free to go and vomit now. Granted, after 8 kids, one's stomach isn't exactly deific. Kate Gosselin was Octomom before Nadya Suleman for sure.

Speaking of Babies, watch this and try not to cry when Jarvis Cocker looks at you. Because I might've let a tear fall around 0:34. Jokes? Maybe. While you're at it, listen to Chairlift's cover of the same song. Bad quality, awesome song. And while we're STILL on the subject of Pulp and Jarvis Cocker, didja know that he was the lead singer of the Weird Sisters in the 4th Harry Potter movie?! Well, proof. Oh, dear - I think I'm in love!

In the meantime, go occupy yourself with these mediocre games on barbie.com. Be sure to turn off the sound though because otherwise you're just going to kill yourself.

b.t.dubs: My Sims addiction is not getting any better (or worse) and I think I'm going to break down and get the Pets expansion pack. I also need to start looking into external hard-drives because I have too much music on my computer and it's laggy, thus rendering my Simming experience less enjoyable than it could be.

I know how much she hurts you, but you've been clean 6 years.

Geez louise. This is my third post today and overall!
Okay, new song obsession: Laura Marling - London Town

EVERYBODY GO AND DOWNLOAD IT IMMEDIATELY. so gooood!

Laura Marling, for youse guyz who don't know her, is one of those indie folk sirens. She hails from the UK and is barely 19. Reminiscent of Regina Spektor, she sings about the usual themes - love, lust, heartbreak, etc., but with her "smoky vocals," the lyrics are smart, simple and unsurprisingly relatable.

Anyway, new general obsession as of 45 minutes ago: That button on top of all these blogs that says "next blog." It's the equivalent of Google's "I'm Feeling Lucky" button. After you download Miss Marling, go click that button a buncha times and see whatcha get!

I found:
- The coolest mom next to mine and Dorothy's Sophia Patrillo.
- This french recipe food somethingorother with pretty pictures.
- Some lady from Manchester who makes things behind the pseudonym, emily pickle
- I'm not actually sure what this one is about, but I like it because it's full of culture and travel. It might be from the POV of a cat.

Oh! My mom just made me a chai tea latte cappuccino (??) so I must drink it and think about cuddling up with Russell Brand while I watch Ponderland. (swoon!)

Better Than Methamphetamine?

I'm making another post because it seemed wrong to give up any more information other than introductory remarks on the first one.

So for the past week or so, I've just been playing The Sims. NON-STOP. I think I played it for a good 12 hours straight yesterday. That may or may not be an exaggeration. And then I woke up and played some more!

On the official webpage, there is a special section called "LOLsims." Similar to the well-known LOLcats, these "LOLsims" consist of "funny" pictures from the game, complete with captions.

To say that I thoroughly enjoyed these, would contribute to the fact that I might have an addiction.

(taken from dictionary.com:)

ad⋅dic⋅tion

[uh-dik-shuhn]
–noun
the state of being enslaved to a habit or practice or to something that is psychologically or physically habit-forming, as narcotics, to such an extent that its cessation causes severe trauma.

UH-OH!

This is the first day of my life

No it's not.

This is my first post. I only made this blog because this girl loves me and said she would read my blog if I made one. Okay, well obviously that isn't her; it's her (she calls herself Danielle) Modern Bohemian Fashion and Lifestyle blog. I'm a fan. I should make a facebook page for it and become a fan.

All of this is rather irrelevant right now actually. Oh, I hate making blogs because the first post is always, "Hi, I'm Christina. I live in Boston and my shoe size is 7.5. My hobbies include...yada yada yada."

I think I'm supposed to have some sort of idea as to what I want this thang to cover. I guess it will cover nothing in particular, but rather whatever I feel like writing about.

Ha! So you guys will be stuck with my weird streams-of-consciousness and random musings. Enjoy?
